Route 29 Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

December 24, 2006

Members of the Union Fire Company & Rescue Squad during the early morning hours of December 24, 2006 were summoned to cover Hunterdon County City of Lambertville station 17-1.  Chief 53 and Telesquirt 53 responded to the cover assignment.  While covering Lambertville, Hunterdon County 9-1-1 Communications Center dispatched 17 Fire (Lambertville), 17 Rescue (Lambertville-New Hope First Aide and Rescue Squad)  26 Fire (West Amwell Fire Co) and EMS-3 for a Motor Vehicle Accident with extrication Route 29 North of the Rooster's Coup.  Telesquirt 53 and Chief 53 immediately responded from Station 17-1.  Telesquirt 53 & Chief 53 arrived on location with 17 rescue's ambulance 17-53 to find a patient heavily entrapped.  Engine 53 was immediately requested equipped with the Jaws-Of-Life to assist with the technical extrication.  Utility 53 responded also to assist with the extrication.  Mercer County Central Emergency Services Communication Center added  Rescue 52 (Hopewell Fire Department) to the assignment due to conflicting reports of the actual incident location.  Ems operations due to the severity of the patient and the prolonged extrication decide to fly an aeromedical to transport the pt.  Rescue 51 (Pennington Fire Company) responded to the Belle Mt.
